Cryotherapy is a quick treatment used in footcare for verrucas (warts) by freezing the affected area. At Oggy’s Footcare, cryotherapy is available at my Abbotsbury clinic in Dorset. If you’re not sure whether cryotherapy is right for you, please get in touch before booking. 

How does Cryotherapy work?

The device freezes the verruca creating ice particles in the lower surface of the skin below the verruca and damaging the infected cells. The thawing process also damages the cells and the immune system kicks in to start to destroy the verruca virus while it has been weakened. Sometimes two or three treatments may be needed but many find it preferable to daily cream or acid treatments which often need to be repeated for months.
